Alison Joy is an award-winning producer and writer of nonfiction stories. With a wealth of experience across both development and production, she takes ideas from start to finish.
Alison has spent over a decade developing projects at Academy Award-winning production companies — including Alex Gibney's Jigsaw Productions, The Documentary Group, and Story Syndicate — for HBO, Netflix, Showtime, CNN, Nat Geo and many more. As a producer and writer, Alison has created work across TV, film, and audio — working with teams big and small on everything from splashy streaming series to small grant-funded passion projects.
Her producing credits include the feature documentary Light Darkness Light (VICE Films, premiere at Sheffield DocFest, DOC NYC), the short film The Spiritual Exercises (New York Times Op-Docs, Vimeo Staff Pick, FOCAL International Award), the top-charting documentary podcast Svetlana! Svetlana!
